Inspection Case Management

Inspection Case Managers (ICM) serve as liaisons for all LADBS services, solve project problems and provide the customer with a wide span of consulting services. ICM provides systematic and comprehensive assistance to customers with the following types of projects:

  • Projects with a construction valuation above $5,000,000.
  • Projects to develop restaurants and other food service establishments.
  • Projects to develop charter schools.

Development Services Case Management

The Development Services Case Management office (DSCM) supports economic development by providing a special service to major and exceptional projects that require specific assistance and problem solving. For other types of projects, we also provide Preliminary Plan Check service to address Code-related questions raised by design professionals. Our goal is to make it as easy as possible to move your business to, or expand it within, the City of Los Angeles.

Restaurant & Small Business Express Program (RSBEP)

A Case Management Network including City Planning, Fire Department, Bureau of Sanitation, and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health Department-Environmental Health Division, the Restaurant & Small Business Express Program (RSBEP) helps facilitate the approval process for all restaurants and small businesses projects such as retail shops, barber shops, nail salons, etc.  

The goal of the RSBEP is to make the permitting and inspection process more efficient, enabling new businesses to open on time and on budget. It acts to streamline the approval process, to provide assistance to business owners, their design and construction teams, and to enhance the coordination in permitting and inspections.
