Frank M. Bush is LADBS' new General Manager
Today, City Council confirmed Frank M. Bush as the department's General Manager and Superintendent of Building.
Frank is highly respected by the construction and development industries as well as the LADBS family. Frank has 27 years of experience with LADBS and more than 38 years of experience in the construction industry. Prior to his City service, he was a licensed General Contractor and operated his own construction company, where he was involved in new construction and remodel of large and small commercial and residential projects. His City career began as an inspector and he promoted through the ranks to Executive Officer, where he managed all operations of the Department, including approximately 1,000 employees. Additionally, he is the Superintendent of Building at LADBS.
Frank has fostered an environment at the Department where ideas from staff and customers are welcomed. Along with his own ideas, they have resulted in various enhancements that have greatly improved LADBS operation, as well as the quality and access to customer services. He has received numerous awards and recognition from City, State and Federal elected officials, community leaders, property owner associations, Los Angeles Police Department, and other city departments for his dedication to public service and for resolving community blight.
Frank’s vision for LADBS includes continuing to expand and extend the development cycle; create more inter-departmental partnerships to facilitate development; build a stronger and diversified LADBS team; enhance technology to improve customer services; and heighten nuisance abatement efforts to improve the quality of life for the citizens and visitors of the City of Los Angeles.
“I am honored to lead the Department of Building and Safety at such a critical moment for development in Los Angeles,” said Frank. “I am grateful to Mayor Garcetti for this incredible opportunity, and I look forward to helping fulfill his vision for our city.”
