DWP, Fire, LADBS, and Inspection Case Managers from these 3 departments received the Mayor’s Civic Innovation award on March 24.
The
ICM program is one of the fruits of the successful partnership between DWP (led by Power Engineering Chief Marvin Moon), Fire (led by Fire Marshall John Vidovich), and LADBS (led by Inspection Bureau Chief Larry Galstian). These departments assign a Case Manager to act as a 'Guardian Angel' to advise, assist, and facilitate mega projects during construction.
Since its launch in 2014, ICM has assisted or is assisting 130 mega projects with a total construction valuation over $6 billion. The development industry embraces the ICM wholeheartedly and has told us several times that ICM services shorten construction time for them by months and reduces their construction cost by millions.
