LA Más designs and builds initiatives that promote neighborhood resilience, affordable housing and economic stability among working class communities of color. The organization partners with Northeast Los Angeles residents who have historically been left out of planning decisions – elevating their leadership to shape local development.
The organization’s ADU expertise stems from previous partnerships with the City and County of Los Angeles on their ADU pilot programs, as well as managing its own initiative The Backyard Homes Project. Through this project, LA Más partnered with homeowners to design, permit and build ADUs that would be rented affordably to Section 8 voucher holders – increasing the affordable housing stock while helping homeowners build equity. This program is no longer accepting applications and will conclude in 2021. Program information and FAQs can be found at www.mas.la/affordable-adus - please review the website before sending inquiries to LA Más.
